Questions & Answers

Skin rejuvenation encompasses a range of treatment options that are available to treat different skin conditions, mainly caused by aging or natural exposure to the elements. The treatments selections we offer are both ablative and non-ablative, which means they may or may not break the skin to create thermal injury below the epidermis, promoting the body's natural healing process to reverse and repair the damage. We can help you select the best treatment for your needs depending on the severity of your case and the recovery time available.

Facial treatments are the most popular, although other areas are pretty common as well, such as the decollete, shoulders and back, and even arms and legs. Hands are very common for sun/age spot removal. Basically anywhere that has visible signs of aging that need to be reversed. Tightening procedures are mostly done on the face and the chin, or just the area around the mouth where fine lines are more prevalent.

For safety reasons, however, we do avoid the entire orbital area of the eye.

This truly depends on the severity of your case and your tolerance of each session. We recommend investing in four initial treatments spaced a month apart, but one treatment may be all that you need to refresh your look and perk up your skin. We will work with you to get your skin back to it's optimal state, and you can come back every few years for maintenance treatments to keep up the results. For sun and age spot removal, many find that as little as two treatments do the job effectively.

Once we determine that you are a good candidate for laser treatments, there are 3 things you must NOT do to prepare for your visits.

Do not tan!
This includes any cosmetic substance that will tint the skin (for at least one month before your session). Pigmentation and extra melanin in the skin creates a higher risk for burning and distracts the laser from finding it's target.

Do not tweeze, wax or bleach.
You may continue to shave up until the day before treatment.

Don't moisturize or use cosmetics the day of treatment.
Discontinue use of retinols or any products containing acids or harsh chemicals. Come in with the area fresh, clean, and closely shaven. Products might block or magnify the laser, or may cause a negative reaction.
