We understand that beginning any laser regime is a big decision. Most people assume it’s costly and requires a major time commitment. However, the popularity of lasers for cosmetic purposes has grown so tremendously in the past few years, that it’s steadily becoming a luxury no man or woman can afford to live without! Imagine eliminating all of your usual maintenance expenses…razors, waxing, cosmetics, expensive creams…and investing that money in a service which will produce incredibly long-lasting results after only a few visits.
What are the different types of cosmetic lasers available?
There are many laser manufacturers marketing lasers today, and each has a specific range of utility, depending on their wavelength and penetration. There is also another light source option called IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) which is sometimes marketed as a laser, although technically it is not. IPL has many advantages in the cosmetic realm, although it is not the optimum solution for removing hair. You should be aware of the equipment any clinic is using on you.
At Luminesse, we own an Alexandrite and a Nd:YAG. The combination of these two lasers allows us to treat all skin types safely and effectively, while offering a variety of services to all of our patients.
